Steering / Suspension
Right up there next to accelerating and braking responsibly is the ability to steer your vehicle. That’s pretty much a no-brainer. But did you know that your steering ability is closely tied to your vehicle’s suspension systems? If something gets out of whack in your suspension systems steering can become wishy-washy, inexact and dangerously unpredictable—not something you want happening on busy Corvallis streets or anywhere else.

Your suspension system includes an intricately-aligned series of parts that work together to ensure smooth sailing and accurate steering. Any of the parts can fail, of course. Check your owner’s manual to discover how often you should have your steering and suspension systems inspected. Most steering/suspension systems should be checked at least annually; if you drive a lot, you may need to have them checked more often. (Check out the shocks/struts page to learn more.) Suspension parts that require periodic inspection include ball joints, control arms, control arm bushings, sway bar bushings and end links, trailing arms, lateral links, tie rods, idler arms, and pitman arms. (The parts just mentioned wear out commonly and need replacing at some point.)

At G&J Auto Center our ASE-certified master mechanics know the ins and outs of every steering/suspension system in cars, trucks and minivans. They can diagnose symptoms as few others can and come up with a plan to get you back on the road fast.

We go the extra mile to make sure every vehicle we service and every customer we serve gets the royal treatment. This is why we have generations of loyalists who won’t take their car, truck or minivan anywhere else. We’re straight shooters; we don’t suggest services you don’t need and we will let you know to start saving when we notice something that will need our help down the road so you won’t get caught unaware when your vehicle does need additional servicing.

So whenever you suspect you’re experiencing steering or suspension anomalies, call us right away—we’ll get you right in. (541) 752-3445
