Tune up Time?
When it comes to getting your vehicle in here to G&J’s Auto Repair for that tune-up you know you need but have been putting off, we understand completely: life has a way of making scheduled maintenance seem like the least of your priorities.

But neglect your vehicle’s tune up for too long and it will start hiccupping. It may not start when you need it to. This may also trigger a check engine light to turn on and cause poor gas mileage or car vibration. It may die in traffic as you’re turning left at a busy intersection, posing a serious safety risk. It may make you late for work, late to pick up the kids from school; it may cause your increasingly-expensive sack of frozen food to begin thawing as you sit on the side of the road waiting to be rescued by AAA or a loved one. (Not a whole lot of fun to think about, is it?)

Regardless of the make and model of your vehicle, a standard tune up includes a painstaking inspection to make sure everything is in working order. If something out-of-the-ordinary is amiss, we let you know and get your okay to fix it before diving in.

At G&J’s Auto Repair our vehicle tune up includes preventive maintenance, necessary adjustments, and a performance analysis. If your vehicle is misbehaving in any way—starting harder than it should, stalling, misfiring, guzzling gas, losing power, or any other anomaly—let us know. During a standard tune up we’ll replace (as needed) spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor and check and replace, clean or adjust points and condensers, timing belts, ignition wires, air and fuel filters, PCV valves, vital fluids, belts and hoses, and safety items (lights, wipers, tires and tire pressure, horn, and more). We’ll also check idling speed, the choke on engines with carburetors, fuel injectors, compression/power balance, manifold intake vacuums, batteries, exhaust emissions, and trouble codes if needed. In short, we’ll make sure your vehicle is road-worthy and purring like a kitten.
